Experimental Study on Effects of Gas-shielding in Lap-fillet Arc Welding

چکیده
In order to clarify the relationship between shielding gas flow and shieldability during a lap-fillet arc welding, oxygen concentration measurements on water-cooled copper which imitated lap-joint in tungsten inert welding were conducted. Moreover, high-speed plasma visualized by schlieren method observation using tube electrode xenon gas, respectively. As result, low-oxygen region, where was less than or equal 100ppm, formed copper. It suggested that this because separated into upper side lower of step part, intrusion atmosphere prevented increase velocity flowing around flow. When length set be long, although position region changed, there small difference caused torch angle. However, when short tilted, blocked it did not step. became worse narrow due low-speed flowed These results obtained study could improved controlling length.

Effects of shielding gas compositions on arc plasma and metal transfer in gas metal arc welding
This article presents the effects of shielding gas compositions on the transient transport phenomena, including the distributions of temperature, flow velocity, current density, and electromagnetic force in the arc and the metal, and arc pressure in gas metal arc welding of mild steel at a constant current input. The shielding gas considered includes pure argon, 75% Ar, 50% Ar, and 25% Ar with ...

متن کاملGas tungsten arc welding
Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, is an arc welding process that uses a nonconsumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. The weld area is protected from atmospheric contamination by a shielding gas (usually an inert gas such as argon), and a filler metal is normally used, though some welds, known as autogenous welds, do not require it. A const...
متن کاملMetal Transfer and Arc Plasma in Gas Metal Arc Welding
This article analyzes the transient complex heat transfer and fluid flow in molten metal and arc plasma during the gas metal arc welding process. The model predicts the formation, growth, detachment, and transfer of droplets from the tip of a continuously fed electrode under the influences of several competing forces including gravity, electromagnetic force, arc pressure, plasma shear stress, a...
متن کاملControl of pulsed gas metal arc welding
This paper presents a control system for manual pulsed Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). This system consists of a current controller, which makes it possible to shape the current during welding, and two important components, which are the key issues discussed in this paper. These components include an arc length controller and a metal transfer controller. The arc length controller is based on a no...
